Light Therapy

Light-emitting diode (LED) therapy is a completely non-invasive, painless modality that involves the use of hundreds of tiny bulbs to deliver targeted light to the skin. LED therapy can be used to improve the skin’s appearance or to treat inflammatory conditions like acne, eczema, psoriasis, and more. At 36 North Moore Dermatology, we offer light therapy using red, blue, and near infrared light. There is no harmful ultraviolet light. When absorbed by the skin, red light can stimulate fibroblast cells that help to build collagen and increase blood circulation to decrease inflammation. Blue light targets oil glands and can make meaningful improvements in acne when used consistently. Near infrared light help to promote wound healing and rejuvenate skin.
