Unwanted Hair Causes & Treatments
Unwanted Hair can occur for a variety of reasons, ranging from medical disorders of the hormone system to genetics. Dr. Rieder will first ensure that the cause of unwanted hair has been fully diagnosed, and treat medically if appropriate. If there are no underlying medical conditions, laser hair removal is an extremely effective way to eliminate unwanted hair. Treatments are typically spaced out every six weeks, and are completed after topical numbing creams have fully anesthetized the areas of concern. Treatments are very efficient, and 10-20% of hair can be expected to be eliminated with each session. Most people require 5-10 sessions of laser for permanent hair removal.
